November 2011 saw the release of “Betty Wright: The Movie” an album by Betty Wright and hip-hop’s premier live band The Roots, co-produced by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson. In addition to the creative affinity found working with Questlove of The Roots, Betty worked once again with songwriter and producer Angelo Morris and featured emcees Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne creating material that reconfirmed Betty’s musical adaptability and boundless enthusiasm:
“I am blessed to have friends that show up and show out on these tracks! From Snoop to Lil Wayne to (Tower of Power’s) Lenny Williams and Joss Stone. I think we weaved a well-made lattice throughout the grooves of this album. I feel like Ice-Cube, just wakin' up in the morning…' gotta Thank God!”
