Tech N9ne has number 1 independent album in the US
Congrats to Tech N9ne who for having the the number 1 independent album in the US for a 3rd time on a row! Tech N9ne Collabs: The Gates Mixed Plate features Strange Label Music mates Krizz Kaliko, Big Scoob and Kutt Kalhoun, Devin The Dude, Yukmouth, Glasses Malone and more. After releasing K.O.D last year Tech stated he was done with the dark side now he's ready to party! Apparently Lil Wayne told Funk Master Flex that he would like to collab either Tech N9ne or Andre 3000 when he's released from prison.
Fontana partners with Rap-A-Lot Records
As J Prince and Rap-A-Lot Records set out to celebrate their approaching 25th Anniversary what better gift is there than to sign an exclusive deal with Fontana, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group.
Created in 1986 Houston rap label Rap-A-Lot put Southern Hip Hop on the map bringing artists such as The Geto Boys; Scarface, Bushwick Bill and Willie D who were their most famous act, Devin The Dude, The Odd Squad, Do or Die, 5th Ward Boyz, Blac Monks, Big Mike, Too Much Trouble, Yukmouth, Tela, Bun B, Pimp C, Z-Ro, Trae The Truth and UTP (man the list goes on!) to the world!!
J Prince is said to be excited about Rap-A-Lot’s new musical journey and added, "I believe in the Universal/Fontana system and I look forward to having the Rap-A-Lot brand be a part of the #1 music company."
